Delhi, Jaipur and Agra circuit popularly known as Golden Triangle of Indian tourism industry are extremely famous for its cultural, historical and colourful importance. Any tourist visiting India first time definitely likes to cover this circuit. Golden Triangle remains most visited tourist circuit in any calendar year. The brief descriptions of the proposed places go as under:
Delhi It is the capital of The Democratic Republic of India and boasts to be one of the oldest and largest cities in the world. Resting on the foundations of eight cities from the ancient times is now is a modern metropolis where you encounter antiquity at every bend. With a history spanning over 5000 years that saw several dynasties, invasions, migrations, destruction, construction and the Partition, Delhi is a cultural conundrum. The best way to relish New Delhi is not to try to unravel its idiosyncrasies but enjoy the cultural ensemble it offers.
Agra Agra, the word conjures a romantic image of the Taj Mahal created by Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Agra is the epitome of a cultural city, with many historical relics beginning from the Persian to the Mughal era. Interwoven with tombs, a trip to Agra is a treat, not just to your eyes, but to your senses as well. But hidden behind these beautiful monuments is a thriving industrial city getting richer by the day. Agra could just as well be a Mecca for shopaholics with marble artifacts, leather goods and silk fabrics available at dearth cheap rates.
Shopping: Marbles, leatherwork, crafts, Zardosi thread work, Panchi Petha and Dalmoth Visit local factories for excellent leather buys, wallets, shoes, jackets and belts and is a good place to shop for silk &39saris&39 and &39dupattas&39. The Taj Mahal remains closed on Fridays.
Jaipur a heritage city or a city of heritages is extremely famous for its rich culture and larger than life forts and palaces. It is believed thatJaipur celebrated a festival every day, which makes it a must covered destination of India. Walking in the traditional markets of Pink City gives a tourist unique experience. A week back Jantar Mantar has now entered into the prestigious World Heritage list.
Goa, is the quintessential holiday destination. Swaying palms, sunny beaches, balmy air, delectable cuisines, free-flowing alcohol, water sports, culture and heritage characterize this paradise. From rave parties and flea markets to quiet luxurious retreats, Goa has something for everyone. An erstwhile Portuguese and Dutch colony, Goa is marked with beautiful villas. The Basilica of Bom Jesus, where reverent St. Francis Xavier is buried is a holy place for Christians. Central Goa is flanked by beautiful waterfalls and greenery. Only once the initial shell shock of Mumbai’s chaos subsides, can one start to appreciate the city’s allure: a wealth of Art Deco and grand colonial relics; cacophonic temples; warrens of bazaars; and the odd spiritual bastion of tranquility. In Mumbai you can dine at some of the finest restaurants in the country, and work off the appetite gyrating at ultrachic bars alongside Bollywood starlets and wannabes. With a pinch of gumption, a dash of adventure, an open wallet and a running start, there’s no excuse not to dive into the Mumbai madness head-first. Mumbai is the Hollywood of India. It has its own distinct sense of hope and history. Colourful markets, stately Victorian architecture, and delectable dishes in world-class restaurants. And when your belly’s full and your mind racing with the wonder of it all.
